Flora and Fauna
This section of the web-site aims to provide comprehensive information on the huge variety of flora and fauna in the forest.

The forest is host to over 120 species of birds and 316 taxa of plant have already been identified.

The Sanctuary also supports more than 30 mammals and numerous amphibians and reptiles.

The huge variety of insects and arachnids are still being discovered. It is easy to overlook the fish species in the forest, but with the dams and streams, a variety of species of fish are ever present.
A number of specialists from different fields have kindly donated their time and knowledge to provide valuable information on the animals and plants that rely on this endangered ecosystem for their survival.

Fleur Ng'weno, Quentin Luke and Damaris Rotich are amongst the first to have volunteered their expertise to enlighten us to the ecological richness of this forest.

Simon Ng'ang'a and a team of 6 rangers continue to arrange Nature Walks and offer their friendly advice on the forest to all who show interest.
